Beautiful beaches, amazing food and warm weather define a perfect summer! And San Diego, Ca presents them all... No wonder why it's known as America's Finest City!
It is always relaxing being in San Diego - the weather is always fair(not so hot and not so cold); the traffic is way less crazy compared to other major California cities; the warm watered-beaches surrounding the city each have their unique features that can cater to different types of audience; and the food - great restaurants and cafes are everywhere!
Among the many beaches in San Diego, here are my husband and I's 5 favorites that we re-visited last July on our recent trip back to SoCal:
Among the many beaches in San Diego, here are my husband and I's 5 favorites that we re-visited last July on our recent trip back to SoCal:
It's named one of the top beaches for families for a reason... Families and pets can stroll in this beach all day, enjoying the picturesque ocean and the backdrop of beautiful homes and the famous Hotel Coronado, and even kite flying. The sand on this beach literally sparkle because of the mineral mica in it - just beautiful!
It's a sandy beach area next to fishing/ferry pier surrounded by shops and eateries close to the Centennial Park. I love just laying down on its grassy lawn, enjoying the views of San Diego bay and downtown San Diego, while listening to music performed live by random local artists.
A prime sand beach that's very popular to families and surfers alike. This 1 mile long serene beach is perfect for picnicking, sunbathing, playing in the water and people watching.
4.) LA JOLLA COVE
One of the busiest beach in San Diego that I've been to. Seeing sea lions and lots of ocean activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, open water swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding and cycling topped with lots of shops and restaurants make this beach so popular making the hunt for parking near the ocean quite difficult.

It's a very active and lively beach with a boardwalk amusement park - Belmont Park. Be prepared for extreme parking hunt and for walking with crowds and crowds of people everywhere - biking, jogging, skating, eating and performing.
These are the ones we usually hang around at when in San Diego to enjoy those chillaxing moments by the beach while in SoCal. But there are other beautiful beaches worth visiting too, like Pacific Beach, Solana Beach, Del Mar city beach, Moonlight Beach and more!
If you're not feeling the beach for a day, it's a good idea to pay a visit at Balboa Park.
This urban cultural park is worth a day's visit to enjoy its beautiful Spanish colonial revival architecture, gardens and paths, gift shops and restaurants - ofcourse not forgetting its world famous San Diego Zoo.
Craving for delicious seafood sandwiches? I would recommend checking out Lobster West (locations are in Coronado Ca and Encinitas Ca). My husband and I truly enjoyed their Maine Feast for two combo - with one Crab roll, one Lobster Roll, one Scallop Roll, served with four side dishes of your choice - so simple but yet so yummy!
And for dessert or random snack attack - visit Boba Bar and Holy Matcha!
I am literally melting just by thinking of how good the desserts and drinks are in these two cafes.
In Boba Bar, I would over and over again indulge with their Matcha and Taro Ice cream with Vanilla custard, Matcha Puffle with taro ice cream and the Rose Milk tea!
While in Holy Matcha, their freshly made avocado toast, Matcha latte and Horchata latte are all must try with definite satisfaction, while enjoying the picturesque interior design of this café!
On this trip, I brought with me my comfortable and super adorable pair of Soulmates Collection shoes. It's bright and lovely colors certainly blended so well with the liveliness of San Diego beaches I went to while adding more charm to each outfit worn with it..
